Dense lodgepole pine and fir forest within view of Lake Alpine . Primitive campground.

Emergency medical services available at the Arnold Medical Clinic in the Meadowmont Shopping Center in Arnold, or at Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital in San Andreas (Highway 49). Gas, groceries, camping supplies are available in Bear Valley and at Lake Alpine Lodge. Public (fee) showers available at Lake Alpine Lodge.

Lake Alpine provides a wide variety of recreation opportunities, including low-speed boating (boat launch available), fishing, hiking, and biking. Interpretive Programs are offered by Forest Service rangers during the summer months.



 Directions

Highway 4 to east shore of Lake Alpine. Turn south on road just east of Chickaree Picnic Area. Campground is located half way between Highway 4 and Pine Marten Campground.
