Description
Barron Creek is located on the west side of 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa), approximately 28 miles northeast of Libby and 34 miles south of Canada. Set in an open meadow atmosphere, it is surrounded by National Forest and is adjacent to one of the best known kokanee salmon fisheries in the northwest.

Boat ramp for small boats, fishing access. Traveling to the Barron Creek area will take recreators along Road 228 which is part of the Lake Koocanusa Scenic Byway loop. The lake area is prime habitat for wildlife viewing; whitetail deer, bighorn sheep, black bear, and eagles.
In case of emergency contact the Campground Hosts at McGillivray Recreation Area, located approximately 2 miles to the south. Medical/dental/optical services are available in Libby, which is a full-service town. St. John''s Lutheran Hospital offers 24-hour emergency care and is a fully staffed, 26-bed facility.
