Beringer Vineyards

Beringer Vineyards

The Beringer Vineyards is the oldest continuously operating winery in Napa Valley and the very first to offer public tours. This may make Beringer sound like a historical curiosity, but the tours are still fresh and entertaining and they do say that wine improves with age.

Several tours are available here, from the shorter, more family-friendly tour of the winery and aging tunnels, to more extensive wine-tasting tours. In any of the tours, you'll see history play out and learn about the process of making wine.

Wine-tasting is here a-plenty, of course, and both the neophyte wine enthusiast and the experienced connoisseur will find a tasting suited for them. Tastings range from newer wines to reserve wines and can include food or cheese for more nuance. The taste relationship between wine and food is, after all, an important one.
