The California Coastal National Monument runs theentire length of the California coast(840-miles) between Oregon and Mexico.The primary purpose of the Monument is toprotect important biological andgeological values. The islands, rocks,reefs, and pinnacles provide forage andbreeding grounds for significantpopulations of birds and sea mammals.
