Cascades - Whitewater Rafting

The Scott River and the Trinity River are the two major raftable rivers of the Cascades. The Scott River, designated "Wild and Scenic," certainly fits the term "Wild." This boulder-choked run will keep even the most expert rafters very alert. The Trinity can be just as rough, but is, on the whole, a little more beginner friendly. Which is to say that it has stretches beginners can raft. The maze like, terrifying Burnt Ranch Gorge is not one of them.

Klamath River Up to Class V
The Klamath River winds southward from the heights of the Oregon Cascades and down through northern California. Arid canyons rim the Oregon stretches, which are typically more difficult . . . "Hell's Corner" in particular.
