Cuyama River

This stretch of intense water from Highway 166 to Twitchell Reservoir is the only part of the Cuyama you can raft. If it were any longer, it might be too intense. At easiest, this is class III, and you should expect plenty of Class IV rapids before you reach the end. Watch the shores as much as you can - this is beautiful country.

 The Basics

Difficulty: Class III - IV
Length: 15 miles
Season: River can run dry in the summer - check ahead.
