El Centro - ATV - Jeep - Offroad

ATV Information
ATV Information

El Centro is one of California's offroading centers. The impressive Imperial Sand Dunes are certainly its most famous offroading site, but they're not the only destination good for four-wheel drive forays. You won't want to miss Plaster City or Superstition Mountain or, indeed, any of the areas listed below.

Imperial Sand Dunes Miles and miles of trails 3 hours+
The Imperial Sand Dunes are a 40-mile long dune system popular with off-roaders.

Lark Canyon OHV Intermediate
Difficult
31 miles 3 hours+
This off-road vehicle area was designed for motorcycles, rather than the wider ATV-style vehicle. This is not a cross-country area either - there is a network of defined trails that you'll need to stick to.

Mount Signal Offroad Area
Mount Signal itself is across the Mexican border, but on the California side of the border, you can explore a limited access off-road area.

Plaster City Open Area Intermediate
Difficult
Miles and miles of trails 3 hours+
Plaster City is all open and varied desert terrain, 41,000 acres of it, an exercise in exploration for the off-roader.

Superstition Mountain Open Area Intermediate
Difficult
Miles and miles 3 hours+
Desert dunes and trails jagged with rocks are what you can expect at Superstition Mountain, and surfaces range from sand to mud. You can roam over 13,000 acres of rough land.

The Bradshaw Trail Beginner
Intermediate
70 miles
This offroad trail is, in fact, the remains of a wagon trail of the 19th century. Expect long sections of desert sand.

Yuha Desert Offroad Area
This is a limited use off-road area with varied terrain that takes in mud, sand, flat desert and hills.
