Hoo Koo E Koo passes Phoenix Lake and traverses through forests of oak and meadows that are filled with wildflowers during the spring as it climbs and descends the hilly topography of Marin County. At times, Hoo Koo E Koo follows exposed ridges, adding to the thrill.

Riders looking for a less committing ride can take a shortcut trail off Hoo Koo E Koo, which rides past Lake Lagunitas and Phoenix Lake.
