 Directions to Trailhead

The trail begins at Thacher School, crosses Sisar Road, and ends at Hines Peak Road, about midway between Chief Peak and Topatopa Bluff. The Pines Camp, at 2.5 miles, has three campsites set underneath Coulter pine trees that were planted after the 1948 fires. A few of the trees were lost during the Wheeler Fire of 1985, but the majority remains to provide a nice shady camp setting. Water is sometimes available at a spring behind the camp.
