Mendocino County California - Hiking

Though there's plenty of undeveloped coast to explore in Mendocino County, it's worth a stop at some of the region's state parks for access to a selection of hiking trails, some of which offer stunning ocean views and a glimpse of migrating whales set to the cacophonous cries of wheeling sea birds.  Some inland routes run more towards quiet forest, or in the case of the Indian Nature Trail near Clear Lake, the site of an old Native American village.
