Merced - Scenic Drives

The ancient Pacheco Pass route is a short but lovely way that meanders around a reservoir west of Merced, but there are also scenic byways to consider in the Sierra Nevada to the east like the upper stretch of Highway 140, which winds up to Yosemite National Park.
