Mojave Desert - ATV - Jeep - Offroad
The Mojave Desert is good to off-roaders. Dunes and volcanic rock are the stuff that OHV enthusiasts' dreams are made of, and the area is remote enough to keep numbers down so don't expect to do much road sharing. jThe Dumont Dunes roll down to an
incongruous desert river, Johnson Valley is especially varied in its
landscape (and elevation changes), while Rasor and Stoddard Valley both
have a system of peaks and dips, duney ups and downs. In the national preserve there its also possible to explore Caruthers Canyon, Clark Mountain and the Aiken Mine Road via 4-Wheel Drive vehicle; just be sure to check road conditions on the preserve's site before setting out.
