Route 101--Redwood Highway

Route 101-Redwood Scenic Highway makes one think tall: tall trees, tall waves, and maybe even a couple of tall-tales for the car ride. Driving along California's coast in the shadow of the giant old growth trees and stopping at the friendly towns along the way is sure to be an uncommon and memorable experience.

Route 101—Redwood Scenic Highway travels the very northwestern corner of California. Take HWY 101 from the south boundary of the Del Norte Redwoods State Park to the north boundary near Crescent City where the byway ends.

Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park is located along the entire drive and is a wonderful place to visit and view the spectacular trees up close and personal. There are also many beaches to walk along and to find the beauty of this treasure of the pacific coast.
