Route 116--Sonoma County

Route 116-Sonoma County Scenic Byway travels through one of the most fruitful (and most pleasant) areas of California. There are over 200 wineries throughout the county making the drive one that is reminiscent of the wine producing regions of France or Italy.

Route 116-Sonoma County Scenic Byway begins in Jenner, 33 miles west of Santa Rosa. The drive follows HWY 116 the entire way until its end in Sebastopol.

Needless to say, there are unlimited opportunities for wine tasting or tours of vineyards along the way. Many of the wineries are still family owned and operated and each offers their own unique flavor for life and for wine. Also, there are some redwood and eucalyptus forests along the way which are interesting to explore when a break from the road is in order.
