Route 12--Valley of the Moon Highway

Route 12—Valley of the Moon Scenic Byway is a relaxing drive that gives a sense of what the Californian lifestyle ought to be like, with high sunny skies and beautiful rolling wine country all around to lend your road trip ambiance.

The byway follows HWY 12 from Annadel State Park southwest to Sonoma.

Several state parks are located along this gentle drive through vineyards and meadows. Jack London State Historic Park is an 800 acre complex dedicated to this important author, and includes several historic buildings and lots of quiet scenery. Annadel State Park is also along the drive and contributes lakes, hiking trails and bird watching opportunities to the mix.
