Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park - Whitewater Rafting

Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Park is close to three rivers - the Kaweah, the Kern and the Kings. The Kern River has the most runs and it has an astounding amount of runs, many of them brutal (if beautiful). The Forks of Kern route is especially well known for its wildness and only the most daring whitewater lovers attempt these remote and fierce rapids. The Kaweah originates in the National Park and most of it is barred to whitewater rafting - it's simply too dangerous. A stretch of water near Three Rivers makes for an enjoyable trip, though. The very, very wet Kings River has a raftable canyon nearby.
