Few cities anywhere can boast the quality of the farmers markets in the Oxnard area. Make a point of visiting one of these during your stay - if the strawberries aren't in season, something just as quality, if perhaps less famous, often is. Oxnard's museums display its proud aerial and naval history and the many beaches along the coast call to surfers. Oxnard is, indeed, a surf destination that hasn't been crowded by hype yet. And while you're here, catch a show at one of the many theaters - perhaps you'll hear some Nardcore, a hardcore punk movement that originated in the area.
