The Shastas may be Redding's first and primary draw, but there are some other areas in and around Redding worth a look. At Lake Shasta is the Lake Shasta Caverns, a cave tour . An hour’s drive to the east is Lassen Volcanic National Park, showcasing the geothermal activity that shaped some of the region’s impressive features. Another noteworthy attraction near Redding is Shasta State Historic Park, a ghost town a few miles west of town.
