Winchester Mystery
House is among California’s most famous residences. The spooky story
of a wealthy widow who believed only eternal construction could fend
off death has attracted people to the house for decades. The quirky
tour of the 160-room Victorian mansion showcases features such as
superfluous staircases and Sarah Winchester’s fascination with the
number 13. Paramount’s Great America is the area’s premiere theme
park, just a few miles from downtown San Jose. The park offers thrill
rides, a water park, and movie-themed attractions. The Cathedral
Basilica of St. Joseph in downtown San Jose is a beautifully restored
19th century cathedral. The Rosicrucian Egyptian
Museum & Planetarium houses the largest collection of Egyptian
artifacts on exhibit in the western United States, in a building
inspired by Egyptian temples. Other parks and tourist attractions
