Yosemite National Park - Camping

There are thirteen campgrounds in Yosemite National Park with sites open for reservations in advance (recommended during peak season). Wawona, Hodgdon Meadow, and two campgrounds in Yosemite Valley are open all year; the other campgrounds may be closed due to snowfall in winter and spring. Campgrounds in Yosemite Valley are extremely limited and are often booked months in advance (first-come, first-serve sites can fill up early day in summer); consider camping outside the central valley or outside the park when there's no space to strike your canvas. There is also some backcountry camping allowed, though the appropriate wilderness permits (which can be obtained through the park headquarters) are required. For information on camping in Yosemite National Park call 209-372-8502.
