Napa Valley Travel Information
Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley are California’s Wine Country, home to
some of the most famous vineyards in the world. The climate in these
fertile valleys north of San Francisco is perfect for grapes, and
nearly 300 wineries produce millions of crates of fine wines each
year. Touring the vineyards and wine tasting are the most popular
activities here, but the fantastic surroundings are great for
anything from hot air ballooning to bicycling to picnic lunches. Of
the two valleys, Napa is the larger, stretching some 35 miles from the
city of Napa at its south end to Calistoga in the north. Napa is
filled with the stuff wine goes best with: art, food, and interesting
people. For a less crowded experience, hop over the hills to the west
into Sonoma Valley, for a different flavor of experience that many
visitors prefer. Napa Valley is located north of the San Francisco Bay.
