Description

The Arroyo Seco Picnic Area to Route G16 bridge stretch of Arroyo Seco River is 14.5 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. The put-in location is a short drive from Salinas. This stretch is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Arroyo Seco Picnic Area to Route G16 bridge section is one of them. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The average California whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy.
