Basic Directions
From Fawn Lake Trailhead near Crescent Lake Campground at northeast end of Crescent Lake.
Description
The trail starts at the Fawn Lake Trailhead and ends at the Crater Butte Trail No. 44 near Fawn Lake. This trail begins in a forest of white fir/Douglas fir/mountain hemlock before making a transition into lodgepole forest. There are views of Redtop and Lakeview Mountains at Fawn Lake.
The trail enters the Diamond Peak Wilderness Area shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness Permits are required for both day-use and overnight travel in the Wilderness from Memorial Day Weekend until Oct. 31. Permits are available at the trailhead.
