Basic Directions

From the intersection of Highway 299 and 96 in Willow Creek, California, go east one block and then go left on Country Club road. Stay to the left after crossing the bridge and you’ll be on Patterson Road. Go two miles and take a sharp right. The sign says “Waterman Ridge and Horse Linto Creek”. In another mile there is a small bridge. Continue winding uphill. In several spots the pavement is in need of repairs. There are a lot of potholes. You’ll see a sign that says “Groves Prairie 16 miles.” Stay to the right at this point. The road is climbing all the way. In about five miles the road splits. Stay right for three miles. There is a gate off to the left, go through the gate. In another mile you’ll see sign “7N04” off to the left. You’ll pass Cedar Creek sign on the right and during this time you’ll re-enter paved road. From the point of the 7N04 sign it is about eight miles to the Groves Prairie turnoff. 1 mile past the Groves Prairie there is a sign for 7N04G (This sign needs replaced). Go to the next left at the fork. AT 7N10 go right. You’ll pass 7N04J on left. When you come to three forks in the road stay to the right and when the road comes to a “T” (sign 7408I ) go left. This is where you will park. The road is washed out in several places so you have to walk approximately ¾ of a mile to the trailhead.
