Route 395—Inyo County Scenic Byway runs through the wild heartland of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains. Route 395—Inyo County Scenic Byway travels entirely on I-395 near the California/Nevada border. The route starts From Fort Independence, 32 miles north of Madera, and ends at Fish Springs Road
A range of outdoor-oriented activities are offered en route, including miles of hiking and biking trails. Small towns occasionally punctuate the route, offering local color, high-priced gasoline and a range of other amenities.
