Basic Directions

Can be reached by vehicle using Eleven Pines Road to Ellicott Bridge. From here the Hunters Trail follows the river on the north side hiking upstream all the way to Hell Hole Reservoir. This is in a steep canyon up to 2,400 ft. deep, with exposed bedrock, numerous small cascades, and boulder fields.

There is also vehicle access for fishing upstream from the Ralston picnic area and Ralston Powerhouse east of Foresthill. Another access hiking trail is Buckeye Flat Trail. Take Rd 14N25 east from Ralston to Pennsylvania Point. There is a gated OHV trail that should be walked (about 1.5 miles long).
