Saratoga Gap, a trail complex in the Bay area, features excellent mountain biking trails for intermediate to advanced level riders.
The individual trails are challenging with steep climbing and one section that is so rooted and rocky that it is better to portage by hiking. The trails in Saratoga Gap thread through grassland, forests of pine and oak and carpets of fern.
Suggested trails in Saratoga Gap include Hickory Oaks, Long Ridge, Grizzly Flats, Table Mountain and Charcoal Road. A map of the area does come in handy to help with navigation. Sections of trails in Saratoga Gap may be closed due to recent rainfall.
This description covers several trails combined into loop. Other options in area available

Saratoga Gap is multi-use and riders should understand and practice appropriate right of way protocol. Riders should carry a first aid kit, bike repair kit and extra water and food. A map of the area is essential due to the complexity of the trail system.
