Basic Directions
Crater Butte Trailhead near Odell Resort at east end of Odell Lake or Fawn Lake Trailhead near Crescent Lake Campground at northeast end of Crescent Lake.
Description
This trail starts from Crater Butte Trail No. 44 and passes through mountain hemlock and lodgepole to Stage Lake. There is a spectacular view of Lakeview Mountain from Stag Lake.
The trail enters the Diamond Peak Wilderness Area shortly after leaving the trailhead. Wilderness Permits are required for both day-use and overnight travel in the Wilderness from Memorial Day Weekend until Oct. 31. Permits are available at the trailhead.
