No motor boats. Reservations for sites 1-6, 8-30, 32-36, 38-54, 57, 59, 60, 63- 65, 67, and double sites 7, 31, 56 required from 07/07 through 09/04 through the National Recreation Reservation Service. Weather permitting, the campground is available on a firstcome,first-served basis before and after reservation dates. Parking and access to Desolation Wilderness trailheads. Obtain overnight wilderness permits in advance only at Pacific Ranger District, 4 miles east of the Pollock Pines/Sly Park exit on Highway 50. Self-issue day permits are available at the lake.

Basic Directions

Travel 11 miles north on Ice House Road (Forest Road 31), then take a right on the Wrights Lake tie road (Forest Road 32) which will “T” into the Wrights Lake Road. The second access is via the Wrights Lake Road (Forest Road 4) from 4 1/2 miles east of Kyburz off of Highway 50.
