Description

This moderately difficult 4X4 trail leads from the Howland Flat & Mt. Filmore area, into the historic town site of Poker Flat, along Canyon Creek. (Canyon Creek is on the border of the Plumas and Tahoe National Forests). From La Porte take the Howland Flat road (county road 512/690) across Slate Creek, through Howland Flat. Just past Howland Flat cross Potosi Creek and turn right onto County road 800. Follow to Poker Flat. Trail head T23N, R1OE, Section 30, Elevation - 5600 feet. Last two miles are 4X4 ONLY.
