From San Jose, take I-680 to Berryessa Road Exit. Leave the Interstate here, heading east. Take a right onto Capitol Expressway, then left on Penitencia Creek Road. Take Penitencia Creek into Alum Rock Park. You'll want to follow the park road to the end. The trailhead is at the gate, at the end of a parking area.
