Pine and Oak woodland. This trail offers fabulous views of the desert and the Salton Sea 4,000 feet below. The trail follows part of the Pacific Crest Trail along the edge of the mountain.

Basic Directions
I-8 east of San Diego to Sunrise Highway (near Pine Valley). Drive 9.2 miles to the Burnt Rancheria Campground entrance. Turn into campground; take the left fork, and the trailhead parking is about one-quarter mile.
