El Centro - Boating

El Centro may not be a boating hub, but it is pretty close to the Salton Sea, California's largest lake. Though the Salton Sea's salinity levels are high, several fish species have survived making this a convenient spot to do some fishing or cruise about in a boat. For freshwater pursuits, head east towards the Colorado River, which along with several area reservoirs, lakes and state recreation areas provides a pleasantly wet escape from the heat of El Centro during summer months.
