South Fork Stanislaus River

The California Department of Fish and Game regularly stocks Pinecrest Lake with rainbow trout. Groceries and other services are available nearby at the Pinecrest commercial center.

Forest Service developed campgrounds at Pinecrest include: 300 camp sites with tables, grills, flush toilets and piped water in 2 campgrounds (Pinecrest Campground and Meadowview Campground) 3 group sites with tables, grills, fireplaces, vault toilets and piped water in 1 group campground (Pioneer Trail Group Campground) Forest Service developed Fraser Flat Campground located 3 miles north of Highway 108 at Spring Gap turnoff includes an accessible fishing pier.

 Some More Things to Know

A valid California state fishing license is needed to fish in the National Forest. Licenses are sold at sporting good outlets in many department and other retail stores. Make sure you pick up a current state fishing regulation guide with your license, for information on fishing times and limits.
