Climate
Oakland’s climate is created by its unique position near the ocean, but buffered by the San Francisco peninsula. Temperatures here tend to be about 10 degrees higher than in San Francisco. There is a little fog, but for the most part days are sunny and warm, with only about 20 days of rainfall per year on average. Evening and winter temperatures can be unexpectedly chilly at times, but more often summer nights are warm and pleasant.
