Redwoods National Park might be most readily associated with big trees, but in the general area find also lovely state beaches, acres of virgin forest, serene lakes and scenic rivers. Despite the national park's popularity (not to mention the fame of landmark drive-through trees), there are many places to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, whether you're approaching on foot or steering off down some rural route.
