The Lower Klamath is the quintessential beginner-intermediate whitewater run with over a hundred river miles to explore. An excellent multi-day adventure, the Lower Klamath is dominated by fun and splashy Class III rapids.
River scenery goes through a metamorphosis along the Lower Klamath from high desert plateau to lush coastal redwood forest. Side hikes reveal amazing waterfalls, creeks and vistas and down on the river there is excellent opportunity for wildlife viewing while en route.
The Lower Klamath is a great place to disconnect and lose oneself for several days. Controlled by dam release, flows of the Lower Klamath are boatable year round and trips range from 1-4 days in length.
