Rainbow Basin Natural Area

You'll want to bring plenty of water, but there's no nicer place for a desert hike than Rainbow Basin. The multi-colored canyons and indigenous wildlife of this designated Natural Area are best taken in on a walking tour.

From Barstow- Take First Avenue north from Main Street.
- Take a left on Irwin Road.
- Continue out of Barstow and watch for the sign for Rainbow Basin.
- At the sign, turn left on Fossil Bed Road and follow the signs to Owl Canyon Campground.
