Tawny hills fall away to steep canyons in one of the prime Off Highway Vehicle sites in the Modesto region, Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area. Roughly 45 miles west of town, this 1,500 acre SVRA has something for OHV users of all ability levels.

Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area has 1500 acres of off-road access, with challenging hill-type trail riding, hill-climbs and a professionally designed motocross track available.
