Modesto is situated along the Amtrack San Joaquins rail route, which moves between Oakland and Bakersfield and Sacramento and Bakersfield.

Basic Directions

Modesto is in central California accessed by Highway 99. From Sacramento, just head south on Highway 99. From Yosemite, follow CA-120/CA-108 west. And from the Bay Area, take I-580 toward I-205. Junction with I-5 briefly until reaching the CA-120 exit. Take CA-120 East for about six miles until junctioning with southbound CA-99.
